This jet lag is not fun and I'm in need of something to perk me up. To tire myself and hopefully go to bed earlier, we walked around the neighborhood. While walking, I've noticed these blue round signs on some of the houses. Apparently, these are historical landmarks. And after some Lebanese food (they have a lot of them here!), we also decided to walk home and burn those calories. In the corner of our street is a flower stand which is literally called "The Flower Stand". My fiance got me a bunch of pink long stemmed roses and eucalyptus. Here's a homemade healthy sushi for you guys. using my chive plant Ingredients: 500 g sushi rice (preferably brown rice, just want to finish our white one) 1 cucumber (preferably organic, why? Click here .) 1 avocado, peeled, stoned and sliced ½ lemon, juiced 4 sheets nori seaweed 4 large slices smoked salmon 1 bunch chives sesame seeds, black and/or white (optional) For seasoned rice: 2 tbsp white vinegar (or rice vinegar or white wine vinegar) 2 tsp sugar & 1 tsp salt (optional) For sauce: soy sauce or tamari pickled ginger (optional) wasabi (optional) Material needed: bamboo sushi rolling mat Directions: Cook sushi rice as per manufacturer's instructions. Happy National Iced Tea Day! Today is the official start of the Iced Tea Month. So if you fancy one, here's the lowest calorie green tea iced tea that you'll surely love! ICED GREEN TEA Ingredients: fresh mint leaves, washed (1/4 cup per person, around 5 big leaves) - I used my own plant! green tea bags (1 bag per person) - I used organic one hot water, 500 ml per person ice cubes honey (or sweetener of your choice) -optional lavender (optional) Directions: Place mint leaves in a glass or pitcher. Crush gently with hands. Ah I love the smell and it leaves on your hands! Add tea bags and pour hot water over top. Don't overfill. Leave room for ice later. Refrigerate until cold. Remove tea bags. *Save the used teabags on the side. Add ice. Add sweetener of choice if desired. Sprinkle some lavender to add some sense of relaxation!
