Cherry Blossoms

Cherry Blossoms are the quintessential sign that spring has arrived.  Japanese Cherry Blossom trees, also known as Sakura, are among the most impressive & lovely of the cherry blossom tree family. And be sure to smell the flowers along the way." -Walter Hagen I had the amazing opportunity to see the  Brooklyn Botanic Garden’s Sakura Matsuri Festival 2018 with the generosity of Nivea. I have been in NY for 11 years now. Well, technically less than that since we lived in London for a few years. But it is actually my first time to see the cherry blossoms in the BBG! #EmbraceAmbition

I learned about Tory Burch Foundation’s #EmbraceAmbition campaign on International Women’s Day last year (March 8, 2017) at AOL Build Series. The goal of this campaign is to break down the gender stereotype  that celebrates ambition in men but stigmatizes ambition in women. This is a harmful double standard that we must overcome in order for women to achieve parity in the workplace.  Only 4.6% of Fortune 500 CEOs are women.  Clearly, we have a long way to go &  we’re not going to get there by hiding the fact that women are ambitious. with Tory Burch 3.8.17 Her words that resonated with me were: “Work hard for your ambitions.
