GIVE WAY, HERE COMES THE MANILACABA !
First there was Africaba,
then Mexicaba,
now meet the newest addition to #LouboutinWorld---
Manilacaba.
Inspired by the sights & sounds of Manila,
the capital city of the Philippines,
Christian Louboutin created Manilacaba to honor the city’s celebratory spirit.
Coming back from a mind-blowing trip to the Philippines,
he imagined exceptional pieces to celebrate his voyage.
For his latest World Cabas collaboration,
he has teamed up with local women artisans in the Philippines
to create a colorful stand-out everyday tote.
"I have always been captivated by the Philippines’ beauty.
But this project really started to make sense to me
when I discovered the richness & the quality of craftsmanship the
Great Women ASEAN were able to develop.”
-Christian Louboutin

From mountains to global luxury boutiques,
Christian Louboutin,
represented the weavers of B’laan.
The B'laan people
are one of the indigenous peoples of Southern Mindanao in the Philippines.
The Manilacaba's fabric & refined sequin & cotton embroideries
in predominantly black & red hues are sourced in the Philippines
before being mounted in Italy with reinforced calfskin handles
finished with a studded leather scarf.
Mesmerized by the iconic & eclectically adorned Jeepneys of Manila,
Christian Louboutin pays homage to the city’s heritage
by adorning the front panel of Manilacaba with a shimmering Jeepney,
rendered in a hand-applied sequin embroidery.
Feel Manila’s Beat !
A beloved heritage of Manila, the Jeepneys
– iconic trucks adorned with vibrant decorations
are reinterpreted as new Louboutin crests.
There are 2 Manilacaba bags:
one is made with silk satin & one is made with cotton canvas:
